Maintaining PVC shutters is so easy! Much like painted timber shutters they require only a little TLC to keep them looking their best and functioning as they should.
Household dust is made up of a few things e.g. insects, pet dander, hair, food, soil to name a few of the nicer ones. Dust accumulates in every nook and cranny of our home and our shutters are no exception even though we wish they were. A dusting of your PVC plantation shutters when you notice it has accumulated is for the most part all that's required. Open up the louvre blades, and whether your choice of weapon is a mitt, rag or duster, a quick swish to remove any dusty bits usually does the trick. If you notice a grubby finger print, pet drool/snot or other smudgy mark, a damp cloth is all that's needed to wipe it away. Please don't use any solvents.
If you feel that the louvre blades need to be tightened up a bit on your PVC internal shutters, there's a screw hole on the sides of your shutter that houses a tension screw for tensioning the drive blade. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, GENTLY turn the screw in a clockwise motion until you feel the blades have enough tension, please don't overtighten so it causes damage as this will void your warranty.
By following these few simple guidelines your PVC shutters will continue to be a worthy investment for years to come.
