DIY Plantation Shutter Measuring Tips

To ensure proper fitting to get it right the first time of inside shutters or outside shutters, exact measurments are a must using a good quality steel tape measure or laser measuring tool.

Ensure to measure the opening clear of any obstacles. If there is any concern with an obstacle, please let us know and or send a photo to alleviate any uncertainty. We will gladly help in any measuring and installation enquires you have.

Please note: all measurements must be supplied in millimetres (mm). As with all window furnishings please supply the width first and then the drop. Eg. 1800 wide x 1200 drop.

It is also important to have an idea of the application/installation type - how it will operate as this will coincide with the measurements taken e.g. hinged, folding, sliding or fixed in place.

Once the measurements and application type are decided, the finishing details such as the layout, colour, blade louvre size and optional extras are established.
